Answer

Cold Pressed Sesame Oil

Dear Cheryl,

What do you think of cold pressed sesame oil? It is good or bad for you? Good, I hope!

-- Camille

Cheryl responds:

I like cold pressed sesame oil - it has a high proportion of the polyunsaturated fats that boost your "good" cholesterol. Just watch the portion size; oils and fat have twice as many calories (gram for gram) as protein and carbohydrates, so a little bit goes along way. Sesame and other nut oils are intensely flavored, so you don't need more than a little drizzle to add a lot of flavor!
