Omega-3 fatty acides bathe us in antiaging benefits from head to toe: the brain, the heart and cardiovascular system, joints and the nervous system. Omega-3 fatty acids are vital to human life -- for that reason, they're called essential fatty acids (EFAs).
Omega-6 fatty acids are also essential. A balanced intake of these EFAs offers optimal health benefits. But most of us eat too many Omega-6s, resulting in pro-aging effects ranging from inflammatory disorders to increased risk for heart attack, stroke, and cancer.
